In 2001's "The Fast and the Furious," Brian O'Conner, played by the late Paul Walker, rescues a dilapidated 1993 Toyota Supra, which defeats a in a race down PCH and ultimately becomes the film's hero car. Well, that very car is being auctioned off at Dana Mecum's 28th Original Spring Classic next month.
The is featured throughout most of the film, which means it saw a lot of action throughout the course of the movie. To ensure it can survive all the action, the car packs a stunt suspension, roll cage, Sparco steering wheel, Yokohama tires, and NOS/Holley Performance nitrous oxide bottles. It also features a five-speed manual transmission, APR wing, Bomex body kit, Dazz wheels, and bright blue seats inside.
The 1993 model year ushered in the fourth generation of the Toyota Supra. The Mark 4 Supra received a completely redesigned exterior that enthusiasts still admire to this day. The Toyota Supra was powered by a standard 220-hp 3.0-liter 2JZ inline-six engine or a 320-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six on the Turbo model. As shown in the film, this particular Supra didn't feature the twin-turbo engine under the hood.
The Spring Classic will be held at the Indiana State Fair starting May 12. Unfortunately, a starting price for this car is not listed.
