Like probably a lot of fans of Formula DRIFT who don’t have the luxury of traveling with the pro championship to watch every round, the series’ live stream is a vital lifeline for keeping up with the blow-by-blow from each event. Today, we learned JE Pistons, one of the most recognized names in high-performance forged and billet racing pistons, is helping to enrich that online programming experience by partnering with Formula D to present a series of informative tech segments hosted by former series driver Robbie Nishida.
Nishida will host two JE Pistons-sponsored technical segments during each of the nine live stream broadcasts – that is, coverage from eight championship rounds and the Super Drift Challenge during the Long Beach Grand Prix weekend (a week after Round 1). The videos are designed to educate viewers on everything from the art of drifting to making power under the hood, chassis setup, and more. You can catch each tech segment during the FD live stream and they will be available post-race via the series’ social media channels.
JE’s association with the pro drifting championship runs deep, the piston company powering more Formula D champions than any other piston brand. Its current roster includes the series’ only three-time champion Chris Forsberg, 2011 champion Daijiro Yosihara, 2016 champion Fredric Aasbo, Dominican driver Jhonnattan Castro, and Peruvian driver Alex Heilbrunn. The 2018 Formula DRIFT Pro Championship gets off the ground April 6th and 7th on Turns 9, 10, and 11 of the Long Beach Grand Prix street circuit in Southern California. If you can’t be there in person, might we suggest ?
