Many don’t realize you have to be a working member of the aftermarket parts industry in order to qualify to attend the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Rarely does the public get to see in person what goes on inside the Las Vegas Convention Center’s three cavernous halls during the trade expo, which is why coverage is such a hot commodity, because it pulls back the curtain for all to experience (by proxy) how big and diverse SEMA is.
Which is not to say if you’re an enthusiast you shouldn’t come to the show – you totally should. On Fridays of SEMA week, organizers host SEMA Ignited, which exposes spectators to cars rolling out of the event, plus there’s drifting demos and other eye candy. If you happen to come earlier in the week, you may not be able to scale the walls of the LVCC compound but there’s still plenty of badass machinery parked on display around the auditoriums.
Herewith are some of our favorites from in front of and behind the LVCC. We should note it seemed like a lot of trucks crowded out other types of builds and project cars this year (there was even a lot full of modified imports behind the South Hall that we’re pretty sure no one knew was there), but we still managed to dig up quality stuff for your eyes to delight in (for a deeper dive into one of those vehicles, check out our mini feature on the Hush Performance EF Civic). Enjoy.
