For the ninth consecutive year, pbskids magazine made an open call to front-engine, front wheel drive vehicles to go head-to-head in a time attack format track event dubbed FF Battle.
This year the format was modified slightly by separating competitors into two classes based on the level of their build and their experience. The Street Class featured more mild builds and required that the registered owner of the vehicle be the pilot throughout the competition. In the more advanced Race Class, the vehicles are more advanced and the owners have the option of hiring a driver for competition. All vehicles relied on Continental Tire’s ExtremeContact Sport, a tire that was used in 2016 and received excellent reviews from competitors.
As always, the competition was intense on track and friendly and lighthearted in the pits. We saw the return of a champion and some new talent debut. Click here for a breakdown of the Street competitors’ cars, and here for more about the Race Class.
