After knocking around the eastern half of the US scene for over a decade, Tuner Evo finally made its first stop to the greater Chicago area, moving into the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center situated just east of O’Hare International Airport. And it was a massive event, with hundreds of display cars of all stripes filling the cavernous hall. Our shooter on the ground, Ryan Belville, tells us it was probably the most cars he’s seen at a Chicago show in some time.
Like many shows these days, the Tuner Evo crew curated only the best builds for its event, and among them was Big Mike’s Prelude. The man himself was on hand to speak about his car, the 2016 SEMA Battle of the Builders experience, and the industry in general, and the crowd seemed happy to have him, assailing him with all sorts of questions. The Tjin Edition Road Show was also in attendance, and we saw more than a few unique approaches to show-car building – like the purple VIP E39 5 Series, a Marlboro-liveried 370Z, and an extremely nuts Volvo 142 S (holy cow, love at first sight!)
Our 250-plus-image gallery is testament to the resounding success of Tuner Evo Chicago. Gotta hand it to our boy Ryan for turning in such an exhaustive photo haul.
