The people who think the sport compact scene is dying have clearly never been to a pbskids event. Nobody could have expected the magnitude of cars that came to the SuperiLL 2 meet at The Row's parking structure in downtown Los Angeles. If you wanted a slice of Southern California's best cars, the rooftop was the place to be. Like wine, the meet only got better with time-more and more cars came as Los Angeles gave visitors a beautiful sunset that lead into fascinating bright lights of the city skyline.
The VIP area was a good mix of ridiculously cool street cars, past pbskids feature vehicles, and a handful of '17 SEMA builds. At one point, a group of Nissan Skyline R32s, R33s and R34s occupied two rows of parking spots. Of course, there was a fair share of outrageously good Hondas, such as Hector Levario's Voltex S2000, Josh Socito's Spoon themed Acura Integra, and Jon Marinas' Kyushu Danji Acura NSX. Even our US Navy friend, Eriel Ferrera, brought his Vertex/Chargespeed S13 all the way from Japan. Hands down one of stars that night had to be the T Demand Lexus LC500.
As you can imagine, LA nightlife - mixed with thousands of car folk - can from time to time inspire some knuckleheaded behavior. Thankfully that's only a small segment of the scene, which will hopefully grow out of it. Filter all of that out and you have a solid group of super ill people who are passionate about car culture and helped make the SuperiLL Meet 2 a rousing success.
