2017 SEMA Show Preview - #SEMA17

Honda fan boys, hold your hats – it’s the Year of the Civic Type R

We’ve touched down in Las Vegas, Nev., for the 2017 SEMA trade show, and while we will mercilessly pummel you this week and next with all kinds of sick cars and gotta-have parts, this first day – which is technically still a set-up day; the show runs from Tuesday, Oct. 31 to Friday, Nov. 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center – was a bit of a bust. Oh, you’ll probably enjoy the image gallery below, and this year’s show is shaping up to be a good one, but truth be told we wanted to roll out an even bigger preview post with still more stunning visuals. This is just the tip of the iceberg – there is so much more.

  |   Evasive CTR

You will find amongst our snapshots a TON of Civic Type R – no joke, it’s has to be the model of SEMA 2017. Eibach, Enkei, Maxxis Tire/Evasive Motorsports, Seibon, and AFE Power all had examples of Honda’s latest hot hatch, and that was just from the hall and a half we were able to get to. And you better believe Honda will have a few to show off in its booth; we’ll have a deeper look at Honda’s booth and show cars as the week progresses, in addition to reviews of the other OEM booths

  |   FD3S

We found a few spotlight cars we’re looking forward to this week, including the wild Kyle Mohan Racing widebody Mazda FD3S RX-7 over in the Exedy Clutch booth, which is simply sinister. Other cars we’re looking ahead to this week include (but are in no way limited to) Chris Forsberg’s 510 wagon, the Zestino Tire AE86, and pretty much everything in the Mackin and Toyo Treadpass booths. One display that totally caught us unaware is the R30 Skyline RS-Turbo in the Enkei Wheels booth – so much JDM want!

Enough blathering – get into the gallery and enjoy our haul from the eve of SEMA Show 2017. And keep it planted here for all the latest from the show!
